Samuel Cleage House - Clegg House

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Samuel Cleage House - Clegg House

The Samuel Cleage House dates back to around 1826. Local residents know it colloquially as “The Clegg House.”

Locals gave accounts of noises and voices that have caused the inability to hold tennants in the past. Now, the building is gutted and going thru possible restoration. Summary of events: Plenty of EVPs, Mist, Unexplained lights, heavy EMF readings and partial possessions. Multiple witnesses can attest to every claim.

    1. Athens is my home town and i never heard of this place before till a couple of months ago . I truly believe its haunted myself. I made an appoieto look at the home to buy and to woman said she would let us see it and never showed up. I called her and she said she made other plans that day for me to go ahead and look at it but please what ever you do don’t go inside it just look from the outside she said. I never went inside, but its haunted I seen black figures in the doorway trying to lure me in and a mans face in the upstairs window on the backside of the house. I will never go back on that property again. I still live in Athens today but I will never go back.

    2. I lived there when I was a 4 year old child. I know what we experienced in this house. It was haunted and I would never step foot on the land today. I am 52 now and know this place should be left alone. Its bad!

This address is false as it places it way south in Georgia. The real address is Highway 11, 1163 North, Athens, TN 37303. It’s now part of a Haunted Attraction known as the Scream Chamber.
