Devenger Road Bridge

You are here Home  > Bridges >  Devenger Road Bridge

Local legend tells us that one Halloween night, a woman and her kids were killed on the Devenger Road Bridge when their car was hit by a truck. The woman had stopped the car to retrieve something from her trunk. Now folks say the woman’s ghost will push you backward to safety if you park your car on the bridge.

  1. One of my friends from high school died in a car crash here. It was about 30 feet from the bridge photo listed above. He hit a tree and was killed instantly.

  2. After finding it, was very disappointed that I wasted my time. You can’ t even slow down on that road. I can see someone out of their car being mowed down.

  3. I live right by this bridge and as a paranormal investigator I had to check it out. It is very difficult to see if she will push your car to safety but I have gotten a class b evp there before.

  4. I heard slaves were hung on the creek below the bridge before it was built and the ghost push u across to keep u from the sacred ground below. But it is true what ever stories are told I went when I was11 years old and 50 years old now and have taken my kid and many others that didn’t believe over the years, I still believe to this day that there is truth of the stories, that keep the stories going on for this many years. I feel bless to have experienced it for myself.
