From this old cemetery comes a chilling-but-sweet local legend about a man and wife who were buried here. The road runs through the cemetery, with part of it lying on either sode. So the legend goes, the husband and wife were buried on opposite sides, their final resting places separated by the road. so on their anniversary (reportedly in either September or October), the spirits of the two are said to meet in the middle of the road.
