White Horse Inn

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  White Horse Inn

The White Horse Inn is currently closed for business, and is scheduled to reopen in 2014. But whether its haunts will remain is uncertain. Folks say a fire here claimed the lives of several intoxicated men and one barmaid, and their moaning and screaming was often heard by guests at the establishment.

  1. The hunting boots of the original owner, Lorenzo Hoard, were kept at the top of the stairs as decoration. Occasionally the workers would come in to work and would find the boots at the bottom of the stairs, exactly as they were at the top of the stairs. It was said by the previous owners that they thought he wanted them on the main floor, not hidden upstairs.

  2. I used to work here and while and something was always lingering upstairs, there were things that were upstairs being found downstairs and it was always a little strange there first thing in the morning.
