    1. I have been on 2 college tours there, and both times I have heard the same story of Merrill Hall’s Nordica Auditorium. Lillian Nordica a.k.a Lady Nordica was allegedly on a cruise to perform in that auditorium, but there was a shipwreck in which she died. Legend has it, her ghost haunts that auditorium. There’s an organ in there that is blocked off so you can’t get to it, and people have reported hearing it play. I’ve also heard people have reported hearing her singing in the auditorium. And also, there is a portrait of her on the wall of the auditorium, and I personally have felt in both the times I have been on that campus, in that very auditorium, that Lady Nordica’s ghost was somehow watching me. Mainly from the portrait. I’m not the only one, other people have reported that. The University Of Maine At Farmington has told people that they’ve had paranormal investigators clarify that the auditorium IS in fact haunted. I’m currently a Sophomore in High School, and plan to go to that college when I am old enough. The tour guides there have said that they at UMF have a “Nightmare Club” where sometimes people will attempt to spend a full night in that auditorium. No one has been able to according to what I’ve heard. If I make it into that college, my goal is to be the first person at UMF to spend a full night with Lady Lillian Nordica’s ghost or spirit, and maybe contact her and see if she has a vengeance or if she just wants to be heard. For all we know, she has unfinished business and just wants to have her performance come to pass. But who am I to say what is truth or not? But that is my story of Nordica Auditorium and what I know of the legend.

    2. During my time as a student at U Maine Farmington one of my first work studies was setting up and tearing down staging. Several times I did it on my own and the two janitors would let me in then lock up behind me. So I would be on my own. I can account that on several occasions lights would go out on their own for no reason, flip-down seats would be down with no reasoning for them, and of course, the infamous singing.
