The Seelbach Hilton Louisville

At this very old hotel building (construction originally began in 1903), there have been reports of TVs turning on at a very loud volume at about 4 a.m. Also, folks have heard the sound of running footsteps on wooden floors in the hallways, even though the halls are now carpeted.

  1. I used to deliver papers and we had to place them by each door. I would hear people walking down the hall and no one would be there. Sometimes I would see a shadow resembling a person run or peek around corners. The 5tg floor I had chill bumps all of the time.

  2. I stayed there on a storming night with a friend that had a camera think we were on the 7th and took elevator to the fifth and found nothing I was disappointed

  3. While snooping around and taking pictures in the Ratskellar Ballroom downstairs, with no one there but the three of us ladies, the attached translucent red figure appeared in one of the pics. We tried to replicate it but couldn’t. When you magnify the picture, you can vaguely see faces. There are other creepy things that happened while there as well. I woke up in the middle of the night and went into the bathroom and there was a shining handprint on the shower wall, as well as a shining splatter on the floor. Again, could not replicate hours later, when I woke back up. Also, the two other ladies I was traveling with had rooms right across from each other on 10th floor. They heard a man and woman fighting in the hallway outside their doors, and it was escalating. They were on their cell phones discussing whether they should call the front desk. They decided to open their doors at the same time and look out. When they did, there was no one there but they could still hear it.

  4. Stayed here weekly for 2 years. Many instances of the TV turning on and off, cold spots throughout, and even some disembodied voices from time to time. Went on a personal tour with security and they had many stories to tell. Whatever is on the 10th floor is not nice at all, and I will leave it at that.

  5. I had an experience on the lower level in the ballroom. I was filling an ATM down there and felt kind of creeped out. As I was leaving towards the stairs I heard a muffeled voice. I turned walked towards the ballroom. I opened the doors took a peek in. All the tables had white tablecloths on them. As I was about to close the doors I heard a female laughing faintly. Then a rush of air ruffled the tablecloths of 8 tables. Like someone was running in between them real fast. Scared the hell out of me. I avoided that stop on my route after that.

  6. I stayed there in late February 2017. I knew nothing about the history of the hotel because my manager booked the hotel stay for work. I did not even know it was haunted. I believe it was the second night I was there, I was laying asleep on my stomach when I felt someone rush up from the end of the bed and get on top of me. Like someone was straddling me and I was pinned down. I started praying and trying to free myself and was finally able to get out of the grip of whatever it was. I turned the light on by the bed and nothing was there. The rest of the night I slept with the lights on. I was terrified.

  7. I stayed at the Sealbach in 2010 and the experience I had still boggles my mind to this day. I was fast asleep on the 2nd night of my stay only to wake up to what I thought was daylight. I open my eyes and the television was on. At first I thought nothing of it, thinking I rolled over on the remote, but couldn’t find it on the bed – I look around the room and about 10 feet to my right was the remote on the floor. I thought “Oh I must have rolled over, it flew off the bed and turned on the TV”. I go to hit the power switch and start wondering why the TV was displaying a blue screen – normally when you turn on the TV it goes right to the hotel channel. When I woke up the next morning I thought about the events that happened that evening and realized there was no way I would have been able to cause the remote to fly that far off the bed – it would have had to been thrown – the bed was completely made on the right. I asked the Front Desk Person if they ever had anyone check out of the hotel from a paranormal experience and she proceeded to tell me that a guest on the 8th floor (where I was) left the hotel in his pajamas stating that his TV was on and he found his remote in the bathtub. Whoa!!! Either they are messing with guests or there really is a ghost on the 8th floor – what’s even stranger is the ghost who apparently haunts the hotel is affectionately referred to as the “Lady in Blue” – BLUE TV SCREEN. YIKES

  8. My ex girlfriend and I stayed one night there back in 2014. We started off walking through the main floor admiring the architecture and had a drink in the Oak Room. The place gives a welcoming but unsettled vibe to describe it bluntly.

Anyway we enjoyed some drinks downtown and later in the night we checked out the 8th floor real quick. Now I don’t know if this is the way it always is or still is but I won’t ever forget the moldy and foul smell that floor put off when the doors opened . Also I was drunk but I remember the carpets not looking well kept and stained like they had been damaged by water or something. We did not see a spirit but those smells were enough to make us leave quickly. I have heard haunted places this is common and not a good sign of friendly ghosts. That night on whatever lower floor we were sleeping I had very disturbed sleep but couldn’t remember any dreams details. Overall it was neat to see it but I don’t really want to go back.
