The Mist of Chapman Road

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  The Mist of Chapman Road

On the far western end of Chapman Road, where it becomes mostly dirt and shell near Route 417, locals say a ghostly mist appears between two electrical poles. It’s always in just this one place, strangely enough, and some say they’ve heard screaming there as well.

  1. I live nearby. I was driving home the other morning (Halloween) after working the night shift and drove past this site. I saw the “fog/mist” and yes, it was localized in that area and I thought it very strange, I’d never seen it before. 3 days later I read the article. Yes, I’d say spooky.

  2. After driving from a friend’s home late one night in the winter, I saw the mist. It was contained northbound side of the road. It looked like there were shadows walking through it. I have never seen it again.

  3. There used to be a fish farm on Chapman, but it was built over to make the 417. The large amount of tanks and ponds full of water often created fog as a result on cold days. While it still gets foggy, it’s nothing like it was when the farm was there. The pumps for the tanks ran all the time, and when they burnt out would often squeal or shriek as the bearings died. When it was in the middle of nowhere, you could hear them at least a mile away.
