  1. A friend and I visited Heritage Trail in hopes of reaching the Oxford Depot Cemetery that we came about earlier on a bike ride. We had no clue it was haunted at the time. We have photos of orbs and plasma. We never quite got to the cemetery.

  2. We found this while walking the heritage trail and took a ton of pictures. Nothing weird happened and nothing weird in our pictures. I am kind of disappointed now that i hear its haunted.

  3. I visited this cemetary today to research family graves. I got no sense it was haunted. It is definitely a very shady place, but when the sun comes through the leaves, as it did today, the tombstones are quite bright in spots. I found it a very peaceful place.

  4. My parents moved to Washingtonville from Manhattan a little less than 10 years ago. I’ve witnessed some bizarre sightings when I’ve visited and been outside their house at night.

The first was snake like trails of light that would range from Blue/green/white/light pink and move much like a slow motion ribbon in the air but seem almost liquid like. The first time I witnessed them I was frozen in fear they would move very slowly but with so much stretch to them, hit a tree and then come out the other side. There was also a strange sound they made almost like a distorted cracking sound. After some research I can only assume they might be willo wisps (Which really sounds like them) or maybe some kind of charged particles in the air that became ignited somehow. I’ve witnessed them now countless times from early Summer month evenings into Autumn, Winter and Springs sightings not so much.

Second strange experience in Washingtonville was when 3 large red orbs in the shape of a triangle hovered above my parents home in the evening, they were maybe 10 or 20 feet from my parents roof which is a 2 story ranch house. I ran into the house and told everyone (I will always remember this day because I was introducing my then girlfriend, now wife to my parents for the first time) We all watched the lights and they stayed motionless for about 5 minutes became an amber orange like color and all blinked off at once.

That’s all I have for Weird Washingtonville.

  5. This is the cemetery on the bike trail. I go past it a lot and never seen anything myself but it is a bit unsettling when no one is around but the real spooky one on the trail is the boarded up building between this and the cargo trains on the trail. A few years back in about 2017-2018 you could climb inside if you where to not care about all the broken glass. There was only one room in there though that was visible with a warning sign telling you not to open the door because “she” was inside or something like that. Haven’t seen the sign in a while because it was on the inside of the building and the building became more boarded up since then. But it is still the most unsettling place I’ve seen.
