Oviedo Lights - Chuluota Lights The "Oviedo Lights" are some of the best-known ghost lights in the Central Florida area. Supposedly the best place to wait for them is at night beneath this bridge on Snow Hill Road (see the map). Park just before the bridge and there's a path going down to a canoe launch. Greenish hazy lights will appear out of nowhere - some claim they have been chased by the lights.

    I've been there, on more than one occasion, and the light isn't under the bridge. It appears down the road, east of the bridge. It is not a car, a motorcycle, a lantern. It is bright, like a headlight, but as it approaches, there is total silence.

    If you get into your car and head west, it will actually follow a ways, seeming to sit on your bumper.

    A group of us "brave" twenty-somethings have actually fired directly at the light, with shotguns and rifles, with no effect whatsoever.

    I don't know what it is, but it's real.

    In the mid 70's, a group of us headed out there one night.......I agree with Richard--the light, whatever it is, does follow. Years ago before Oviedo was built up, there was a subdivision that we called The Maze. One way in...one way out. It's right before Oviedo Lights.

      Kelly, YES!! I thought I was the only one who remembered The Maze....like you said, one way in....one way out. And we were followed by a red light the entire time in The Maze.

    i remember the lights being on the bridge on snowhill road. the map and description above says cr 419. which is it?

    not sure what it is but in between frames of the video above at 5.55 and 5.57 minutes there is a small light that moves horizontally from about mid screen to the left side of the screen just above their heads did anyone investigate what that might be it moves very fast so watch for it

    Isn't this by Spring Ave?
    I lived in Spring Ave as a child and I remember waking up to the sound of Indians playing drums and singing or chanting.
    I woke my dad up but he couldn't hear them.
    We did find arrow heads. I remember at times very strange things would happen at the house. I wonder if they still go on at our old property.
    We were the first house on the left back then.

      I used to live in a house somewhere in that area and I thought I was the only one but I used to hear Indian sounds and I did see an Indian on a horse one time go into the woods and disappear I was six years old when this happened 1986

    I have a friend who lives closer to the bridge than I do and she claimed she saw some orbs.
    Also, I went down there with a couple of friends around midnight-ish and we saw nothing, so we started to head back and then saw a headlight following from way behind. I'm not sure if it was just another car, it was hard to tell as we turned down a short road.

    I was with my friend and we were driving home and we saw them. It didn't look green. It was bright, like headlights. We thought it was a car but when we looked back it was gone. It's real...

    I drive down this road a lot at night. I've even walked the trails by the river and hung out by the river bank at night. I see them all the time. Once I've even seen them on C.R. 419 as I was heading to work. Both my boyfriend and I saw them and it was as they were following us until we turned onto Lake Picket. I just them once again tonight on Snow Hill. They are definitely real. Not only that but when we walked the trails I hear things at aren't there and see things that have no explanation on how things can reach that area.

    I grew up in Chuluota, in the 70s. Rode our bicycles to this maze. Camped in River with Dad and cousin. One day, when I was about 20, I drove by and a car was burned up on bridge. Always heard that if the light shines on your car, this would happen. I know a retired sheriff,who used to patrol there. He said it was kind of creepy at 3 a.m.

    I grew up in Chuluota. Moved there in 1960 and I was 12. I moved out when I was 28. When I was old enough to drive (16) we used to hang out down there. The lights were a big attraction. The guys that were older than me used to hang out down there as well. Apparently some of them were playing chicken one night and One of the guys didn’t get out-of-the-way in time. He died on the spot, this was all before the new bridge went in. It’s got to be an old bridge now.
    We used to kayak between Highway 419 and Highway 13 from when I was 13 years old. It was on one of those camp outs, as an early teenager, that we saw the lights.
    Somewhere Between State Road 419 and Highway 13. Never saw them after that.
    I’ve canoed all the way from Hwy. 520 to the St. John’s River.
    My parents are buried in the Chuluota cemetery.
