Loyd Hall Plantation

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Loyd Hall Plantation

Like any plantation in the south, Loyd hall has had its share of tragedy and death. The main stories are of the original owner who was hanged as a traitor during the Civil War, a Union soldier shot to death in an upstairs attic (the bloodstains are still visible) and the possible suicide of a young woman who may have leaped from that same attic room years later.

    1. My team and I conducted an investigation at this beautiful plantation. And I have to say that the findings we got were amazing. I am posting our findings on our facebook page On The Edge Soul Seekers as well on our website. soulseekers4u.wix.com/ontheedgesoulseekers. …… check us out

    2. I had the distinct and terrifying honor of meeting Sally Boston at 3:00 am in the former kitchen. She startled me out of a sound sleep as she manifested a couple of feet from me in the form of a black mist. I was an avid skeptic until that night, and it took awhile for me to accept what I’d seen. When I told the caretaker about it the following morning, he smiled a little and said, “I hear that story all the time.” If interested in hearing about the encounter in detail, search YouTube for Real Ghost Stories Online, the Haunted Plantation episode. My narrative was read in full there.

    3. My family was one of the Slaves Family on this property. The property down the way across from the Sugar Cane is where the Lord family gave to the Slaves and they are now the resting place for the family. There is a church there too. When we was young our Grandmother told us about this House

I actually have two very distinct photos of Sally peering out of a window 1st floor and another of her peering out from behind a curtain, same room.

      • Oh wow Timothy O’Connor I would love see pictures. My cousin LaRhonda and I visited Loyd Hall Plantation last year and she was actually touched which was really cool.

On Halloween of 2020 I took my family to the plantation. And that night we was taking pictures and on the first floor we caught a picture of a woman wearing a bonnet in the window. Also have two recordings of a man one is telling us to get out! We will be going back soon .

    6. I recently stayed two nights at Loyd Hall completely alone as no one was on the property but myself. One night in the old kitchen, and the second in the house. I set up several cameras and audio recorders and while I experienced nothing myself except a very heavy feeling the whole time inside, the audio recorder I left in the main foyer caught undeniable breathing, footsteps, voices and doors slamming so hard that I should have actually heard it myself. I didn’t, and only discovered these many sounds after reviewing later. It is a very charming home…I’ve already made reservations to return.
