Knock Knock Road

Strasburg Road is known as Knock Knock Road, because many passersby in their vehicles have reported the sounds of constant child’s knocking and rapping on their car doors and windows. The haunting is said to stem from a adolescent girl who was once riding her bike by the road, and was hit and killed. She is said to knock on the doors to get the driver’s attention. Another version of the legend tells of a group of teenagers riding a car down the road and crashed into a pole. The car caught fire and started to burn, while the teenagers, who were trapped inside, desperately pounded on the windows in an attempt to get out while they burned to death.

  1. No. The knocking was not heard on car windows. It was heard underneath your car as you drove past the elementary school on Strasburg street. The story was that a truck driver did and dragged a little down the street as she knock on the bottom of his truck . She was dragged to her death. The driver unaware until it was too late.
From that day for several years on, anyone driving down that stretch heard her knocking.
I was about 10 at the time. My dad took me and my cousin down knock knock street to hear the knocking and scare the crap out of us. This was about 1958 .

  2. Yes I remember the stories about knock knock street. Strasburg near Von Steuben school. I attended Von Steuben in the 50’s and graduated 8th grade in 1953.

  3. From what i know is Knock Knock road, is based off of the old Denton rd story. But the older story of Denton rd. as far as I have understood growing up in the 80’s was about a family where the father was out in the field plowing corn in his tractor and their child got out of the house and went to play in the field. When the mother saw the child in the field and went to retrieve her child she screamed for her husband to stop the tractor, but he could not hear her and got them both. When the father realized what had happened he killed himself. The Second part of story is a couple would go to the bridge where they claim to her the child and the mother crying under the bridge. If you left the car running would stall and not start back up, A couple went out there on a cold rainy October night and the vehicle stalled out and would not start back up. The boyfriend told his girlfriend he would walk to the gas station near by to get help and for her to wait in the car. When he return to the abandoned car his girl friend was gone. After calling out for her with no results he thought she walked home. that night was very windy and it was raining very hard. When he got home he was cold and soaking wet. He was so exhausted he drop on his bed to get some rest. Laying there thinking of where his girlfriend went he suddenly heard a loud knocking on his bedroom window… he ran to it thinking it was his girlfriend, only to find a branch from the tree in his yard was hitting the window pane. He went outside and quickly removed the branch from the tree and went back to his room to sleep, only to hear the knocking on his window only louder! Tired and thinking it was another branch he ignored it and fell asleep. That morning he found his girlfriend laying under the window dead…
