  1. The Ghost of Coeur D’alene
My family & I used to travel through Coeur D’Alene on the way to North Dakota almost every year until I turned 16. One night my mom was driving our station wagon late at night right at Coeur D’alene on the old US10 (US10 ran on or pretty close to the current I-90). My mom was giving my dad a needed rest (my dad was asleep next to her in the passenger seat). Us kids were asleep in the back. No other cars were on the road – it was in the late 1960’s. All of a sudden, my mom saw a little girl in the road! Then she disappeared! It really freaked my mom out! Turns out a little girl had died on that area of the road just a few days before we drove by! From then on, my mom would tell us the story of “The Ghost of Coeur D’alene” each time we went through Coeur D’Alene! And yes, this really happened!
