My grandmother has a house in Downieville and have family ties to the town, my great great great great Grandfather was the sheriff of this town back in the 1800’s. I have heard of this legend but never explored it myself. I am going up there within the next few weeks and will report more when I find out more…… or experience it myself…

my parents owned the downieville hotel and I had lived there for 2 years 2018 – 2019 i had seen so much stuff but the scariest story I have is when I’m sitting in the main room of the hotel cause In the hotel behind the front desk was like a living room and kitchen and then where me and my family would stay so Im sitting on the couch watching tv and this is when you know bloody mary was popular i personally did believe that as a dumb 9 year old and was terrified of it so my step brother comes in and he snatches the remote from me and he puts on a bloody mary compilation and it starts like teasing me and “taunting” bloody mary so hes saying stuff like “bloody mary bloody mary Your ugly” and “bloody mary bloody mary we hate you Your an ugly old b*tch” and Im saying stuff like “no no I love you You a beautiful ghost” and after 5 mins my brother says “hey get me something from the kitchen and in our kitchen we had one of those racks that hold all the pots and pans above so when he asks me i say hell no your coming with me so we both walk into the kitchen and we looking for food my step brother says “damn I guess bloody mary ate all the food” and the drawers, cabinets and all those pots and pans Open and come crashing down on me and my brother lucky nothing hit us in the head but we both run out the kitchen crying and screaming we run to my parents room and as im running i see this woman shes wearing a old fashion white dress with long black hair and shes standing in the corner of the room and behind her I see at leat a 7 foot man holding on to her shoulder I could feel her anger and so many emotions as i locked eyes with her we finally make it to my parents door and start banging on the door my step brother is crying sobbing screaming “its real!!” “oh my god its real” hes a 16 year old boy and that was the first and last time i saw him sob like that I’ll never forget when i locked eyes with the woman
