Barrett Drug Store

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Barrett Drug Store

The old-fashioned drug store may have closed down, but the façade sign and spirits that haunt the place remain behind. Visitors have reportedly seen the apparition of a former owner, and have encountered an eerie entity in the confectionery section. Cold spots and disembodied footsteps have been felt and heard throughout the building.

  1. On the 4th floor over the store was an old dance floor with figures painted on the walls. It is accompanied by a ghost. I felt that when I was 16 yrs old. I worked there for over 4yrs. Of course the apt is haunted too. We used to have our Christmas parties there. You can feel the presence of something there too.

    • I worked in the warehouse at Barretts from 1974 till 1977. I hated going up to that old 4th floor which I was told was a dance school in earlier years. I remember the figures painted on the walls. That old building was so creaky that every time I was up there working I kept hearing noises and was convinced that somebody was up there ready to jump out at me.
I also remember that old freight elevator in the middle warehouse that you had to open and close the doors yourself and to move the elevator you had to simply hold the up or down button. There was also the secret gun storage room that was between the floors
      Crazy place.
