Antique Row

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Antique Row

Most of the antique stores here are very old and contain a variety of spirits that said to be attached to the items sold here. Others ghosts freely roam around, particularly in the underground levels of some of these stores.

  1. I have came here all my life. Everytime I go I have this feeling like someone is following me and just watching me. This place is pretty creepy!

  2. I was recently there one night, one of my sisters had an art show with her friends in the art section of that area. After the show was over we walked around, went to the farmer’s market and saw some stores. My little sister wanted to go to the antique row area so we went. But all the stores there were closed, and that area was pretty deserted. It was super creepy. My parents were looking at some things from a store through the Windows so my little sister and my little boys, and I walked over towards them. As we got closer, we heard the voice of a girl sing ” Aww a awww a awww.” My little sister looked at me and said “what was that?” And I was like, “dude, I thought it was you!” After that, we just left! We are convinced that that area is haunted!.

  3. My mom and I went to one of her favorites antique dealers there on 2nd Street in Pomona, Chief Mini Pockets. I was about 9 at the time, so approx.1980, we ventured downstairs where they stored much of their larger furniture. I was walking near the back of the room and suddenly all of the hair on the back of my head tingled and stood on end, I felt like I couldn’t move my facial muscles, I felt panicked is the best way to describe it. I couldn’t even speak. I didn’t / couldn’t say a word to my mother. Soon we returned upstairs, where minutes later she exclaimed “Did you feel that!?!” We obviously experienced the same thing!!!! Years later I spoke with someone about this and they shared that one of the employees had said that there was a sighting of an older male down there, and that he was very angry or hostile! Must be because I’ve never forgotten the experience all these many years later. 🙂

  4. Went to a few of these shops at the beginning of the year with one of my friends, every time we went to one of the ‘underground’ sections of a store i couldn’t help but feel weary. Also one of the shops we went into, I think it was one of those nerdy memorabilia shops, things fell off the shelves by themselves (I don’t believe in ghosts so it was a real trip)

  5. so my fiance, kids and I went to an antique store in down town Pomona. The store has really cool items. while we were upstairs I seen a male ghost. not only that I always feel like someone is there like a presence.

  6. So here’s my experience with second Street. I had befriended a man that lived in the back storage area of Dwayne’s used book store. This man named Louis always seemed depressed. He said Pomona’d 2nd st. was the loudest place he had ever lived. Dwayne and his wife were so very generous to let him stay/guard their book store at night. Lewis was a brave man to spend his nights in such a spooky place. Long story…Dwayne was murdered in his upstairs apartment. Lewis died of diabetes two weeks after finding a place of his own.
Over the past few years I have personally witnessed many “strange” things and people of all weirdnesses at Diamond plaza.
My answer to all the ghosts of strangeness that wander the area is to play my big drum. Haven’t been stopped by the cops which is a wonder in it’s self. I know whoever is within hearing of my beat will either dance (like the Indian man who did ritual rain dance for me)(or the inebriated old man who wanted to cut a music album with me)(or the 7young road bikers who all parked their bikes hanging from the tree grooving on my tunes) or sneak away wondering why I’m doing that drumming…sorta weird…Ya what a vibe! so, I guess the spirits people find down there are the same ones they can’t escape anywhere! Peace to Pomona is coming. IT MUST, or the Methheads will make zombies the norm.
