The Jonathan Padelford

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  The Jonathan Padelford

The Jonathan Padelford is a Mississippi River steamboat that’s believed to be haunted by a man who drowned after climbing to the top of the pilothouse and then falling from it into the river. Both employees and passengers have heard this phantom scene replay, complete with footsteps and a large splash. No one is ever found in the water. Sightseeing cruises are offered on the steamboat.

  1. This phony “paddle-wheeler” (it has props below the water-line) has only been around since, like, the late 60’s or early 70’s. Don’t you think a spectacular accident like the one alleged would have at least been mentioned in one of the local newspapers,or even radio or T.V.? I suspect the only spirits that are on this tourist trap are in the weak drinks served to a captive audience! Save your $ and visit a local orchard or corn maze instead–at least at these alternatives you can leave when you realize it’s a sham and you’ve had enough!
