Sweetwater Branch Inn

The Sweetwater Branch Inn has several buildings, but the blue one in particular seems to have the most paranormal activity – particularly in the attic rooms. Guests sometimes complain of a “heavy feeling” on their chest while sleeping up there. Occasionally the bureau door will open and close on its own. Keep an eye on the third floor window, where ghostly faces are said to appear.

    1. A business associate of mine and I had several odd things happen when staying in the Sweetwater Branch in roughly 10 years ago. This was during multiple visits: Blue house: odd sounds, furniture doors opening on their own. Peach house: apparition of a lady in the pink room, feelings of heaviness and being watched in the pink room. I love the Inn and would stay there again in a heartbeat but my associate has said never again.

    2. I had my wedding reception there. My brother’s glasses were knocked off the bedside table across the room while he was sleeping. He thought that maybe there was a cat in the room but there was nothing there.

Another guest felt pressure on his chest in the middle of the night and insisted he be moved to another room. Both were staying in the blue house and neither one is a believer in the paranormal.

    3. I contacted this bed and breakfast about staying the night. they laughed and said it is all rumors and they are not haunted. Also had friends go for weddings and laughed saying no that place is not haunted.

    4. Place is most definitely haunted stayed in the “attic” room or highest upstairs room in the blue house..total feeling of uneasiness…didn’t want to sleep in the room…was a long night…did not know haunted rumors when I stayed there…stayed there alone..was in 2000…for a friend’s on property wedding…

    5. I felt a little nauseous in the check in office and in the hospitality sweet of the McKenzie building. I stayed in the Isadora and looked out of the window because apparently a ghost does, and a lady bug fell on my shoulder. I fell asleep easily but woke up after a few hours to a tapping/tinkling sound. I heard some other noises that seemed to be coming from in the room, but it is an old house. I got a little nauseous and felt a little tightness in my chest. I tried to go back to sleep and I felt the bed shaking a little. Not sure if there is a train. I was afraid to sleep with my back facing a certain way, it didn’t feel comfortable. I had a dream about a male ghost but I don’t remember it much.

    6. Stayed there at beginning of Covid. Third floor. We were the only ones in the house. Caught orbs. Heard walking up stair case with us the only ones in the house. Feelings of dread as I explored the house. Definitely haunted.
