This old cemetery is known for a glowing tombstone, purportedly owned by Charles M. Baker, who died April 17, 1881. According to urban legend, when vehicle headlights shine into the cemetery from a nearby interstate bridge, the tombstone emits an eerie glow. No one knows the reason behind this phenomenon.

  1. Before the road was paved you sat at a certain spot and had to have your head lights on brights to make it glow.Nothing super natural about it. Spent a halloween night in the cemetary for a scary hay ride with a youth group.We did the the scareing NOT anything in the cemetary it self.

  2. Followed the directions given from this site. There are no creapy feelings here. Its a very peaceful location. Had a lot of fun looking at the old stones.

  3. I think in 1977 an English Teacher and about 3 students including myself went out to use a flashlight in the cemetery to track our location and identify stone that reflected the headlights and when it was found it rocked on it’s base which gave an appearance of light that sent the reflection across other stones giving the driver of the vehicle the illusion of a ghost that appeared to be moving throughout the cemetery. It was pretty cool but explainable.
