Smoker Park is a small section of land on the south side of the New River, across the water from the Stranahan House (also haunted). The park has been a hotbed of contention between locals and potential developers – at one time it was very nearly destroyed to make room for condominiums, but local protests help to secure it as a permanent public space.
It is said that in the area immediately around an enormous old tree in the park, people have claimed they were poked and prodded by unseen hands in the darkness. Drumming sounds have also been heard, and ghost hunters seem to find peculiar orbs in their photographs.
