Silver Cliff Cemetery, around since the early 1880s, is known for its mysterious dancing lights. The blue or white lights or spheres float through the graveyard and sometimes even bounce on the gravestones. The phenomenon was first noted by some miners who had gone through the cemetery as a shortcut; subsequently a story about the lights appeared in the August 1969 National Geographic.
