Poor Richard's Inn

You are here Home  > Hotels and Inns >  Poor Richard's Inn

This historic inn is located on one of the most haunted streets in town, and is certainly no exception. Guests and staff have reported many strange occurrences over the years, with Room #007 seeming the most popular with the spirit set.

3rd floor has 1 room accomodation… 1 night at around 3am the deadbolt lock on our entry door made a full opening rotation… i was at the door in seconds to find nothing on the other side of it… our host was thrilled with the news the following morning… lovely BandB

  2. I stayed at The Summit Inn back in 2003. I had several experiences that continued through the night and seemed to follow me from room to room. The most notable experience was the sense of a woman standing at the corner of the fireplace in our assigned room for the night. My dog also stared and barked nonstop at that area the entire time we were in there. My pup would not calm down so they allowed me to move a few doors down where I heard loud, heavy footsteps approaching my door and then the bedroom door opened. I also experienced knocking on all the walls and ceiling while in that second room. I finally gave up trying to sleep and sat outside on the front porch until everyone else woke up and we left. I was shocked and saddened to later learn that the Inn burned down and the owner and his dog perished in the fire. This experience has never left me.
