Morey Mansion

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Morey Mansion

The Morey Mansion was built in 1890 by David and Sarah Morey, and it is said that both of them remain in the house today. Reports say Sarah died a tragic death and her husband committed suicide shortly thereafter, in 1901. The house became a bed-and-breakfast in 1985. Ghost-hunting teams have captured photographs and other evidence of the initials S.M. (Sarah Morey), orbs, and hot spots. As of 2010, the home has been a private residence.

    1. The owners back in 2006 let my team and I take a tour. It is an incredibly gorgeous mansion. I would love to stay there. We didn’t experience anything for the couple hours we were there, but the owner shared some experiences that she and guests have had.

She regularly felt the presence of someone while she worked in the garden. She said it was a very peaceful presence. She told us that some guests had complained about someone running down the halls and playing with the door knobs to their rooms in the middle of the night.

    2. I used to babysit there for years when it was privately owned, and my paranormal group has investigated it 3 times. Yes, it’ very haunted.

    3. I’ve been in this house many times from 1996 to 2010 as a member of The Redlands Area Historical Society. I have been in every room in this house including the attic and the roof behind the onion dome. I have never felt any type of presence in this home.
The Redlands home I lived in on W. Palm Ave. built in 1888 had a ghost that liked watches and trinkets. The ghost took them if they were left in the second bedroom or closet area of the house. and returned everything just before we moved..

    4. I lived there in the 1980’s and the house is definitely haunted. I have seen her but I never saw the man. I saw her in the “Carol Lombard bedroom” which is on the north side of the house near the middle. I assume it is Sarah and she has been seen in other upstairs bedrooms in the front of the house. She can make her wishes known and she is most gracious. Many people have reported seeing her.

    5. My uncle lives there under rent and I KNEW it was haunted. I always get the chills when I’m there. Also it looks like i could’ve been the inspiration for mystic manor at disneyland.
