Hollenbeck Cemetery

You are here Home  > Cemeteries >  Hollenbeck Cemetery

Tiny Hollenbeck Cemetery, with about 25 graves, hasn’t been used since before the turn of the century. But legends abound about the place; folks have witnessed a headless horseman, a woman in white, ghostly babies crying, screams for help, knocking sounds, orbs, and tombstones that are said to have disappeared. A 1996 memorial placed by the Township of Ellicott in the center of the graveyard alludes to the fact that some of the stones were stolen in July 1995.

  1. I have visited this site several times, have seen a few orbs, and a faint image of a woman in a white dress. Other than that the location its self is very creepy, and hard to find.

I visited the place back in 2019. I ran my spirit box through my car radio and that was a mistake!! What ever was there took over my radio. Even after we left it was still messing around. We would get out of the car with nothing playing, get back in and it would be full volume blast of music, We would be listing to a station and it would just switch or lower the volume, We would detach the security faceplate and it would still play!! We took it to a local garage and about half an hour later they called to pick it up. We got there and they said everything looked normal and please do not bring the car back. never would say why.. very active place!!
