A former resident at this historic house reported seeing the apparition of an elderly African American maid in a black dress on many occasions. She was regarded as a kindly presence, and would often help those in distress.

  1. Have owned this home for 6 years and have had no experiences. We have heard many believable stories from locals who previously lived in the home, but no personal experiences.

  2. I KNOW there are spirits there. You know how when you are a child you are more open to seeing and feeling the really good stuff, the things folks grow up to forget? WELL. Once a lovely black lady kept me from falling backwards to the ground (we were on the “landing” just outside the back door on top of the steps), and EVEN BETTER THAT THAT, I saw millions and millions of huge bubbles (clear, but with colors) everywhere in the bedroom. When I asked Mama if she had seen them, she answered, “Of course.” I know I’ve told this story before, but when the option came up again (while I was searching around for Aberdeen houses), I couldn’t stop myself from telling my story again. I wish I’d bought this beautiful home when I had the chance, but I was a wimp and didn’t go for it. However, I am sure the folks who did have the good fortune to get it are good souls and I hope to meet them soon. Love, Jenny Lee Wax P.S. I was around 2-1/2 or 3 at the time of my experiences and my little sister was just about to make her entrance into the world. Hope this little story makes it out there. Yes, I do have a few more little tales to tell about living here.

    • In the years that have passed, more and more incidents have occurred. Several investors and sensitives have visited and have identified a number of spirits. My home is definitely “spirit-filled”, but there’s nothing frightening.
