Grand Theatre

The 1901 Grand Theatre has a story and a ghost, that of original owner and theater magnate Ambrose Small. On December 2, 1919, Small put a million dollars into a bank account and took his wife to lunch, but after that, no one ever saw him again. Several weeks afterward, a theater night watchman saw Small entering the theater, and the ghost is still believed to pay occasional visits. The mysterious disappearance has never been solved.

  1. It’s rumored that his body is inside the theater walls. Renovations have never been done & there are no plans for the investigation of this, London On Police ruled that it would have to wait until the building is demolished.

There is a story that says he was placed into an insane asylum. The story goes that later owners of his home in Toronto found, in the walls of the house during renovations, monthly cancelled cheques for $100 made out to the asylum.

That family still owns land downtown london. One of the oldest houses in London. Was used as an army barracks back in the war. Its by Victoria park. I dated someone in the small family. And their childhood house was also haunted. It is a heritage home.
