Governor's Park - Myers House

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Governor's Park - Myers House

Myers House was built by Hyman Myers, and it has 19 rooms. It is now abandoned in the middle of Governor’s Park.

This mansion is quite beautiful and people are seen having picnics and enjoying the view of this magnificent house. Though you can’t go inside because it is all boarded up quite tightly. So we decided to go me and my fiance’ stayed looking at this house for about an hour. As we approached the front door I saw the door bell and of course I wanted to push it. So I asked my fiance’ to push it well he pushed it four times. Soon after there were 2 sets of 2 knocks that were loud and actually scared both of us. That was our bizarre experience there.

  1. The house is no longer there sadly
I live right by the area and walked up to the top of the hill on which it sat and was completely razed

  2. I visited this place awhile back, boarded up but you could see several people had made successful entries into the property. Also had two smaller buildings in the back, possible guest house and other I could only guess was a garage of some sort. “Guest house” was full of magazines/papers from the 60’s and 70’s. Some kids even made it there clubhouse. Kinda cute.

Anyway wanted to get in there myself but you really needed a crowbar to get in what was left of the side door (where others had gained entry), front door was a no go and did not see any signs of successful entry that way. There maybe a a you-tube video still up that I watched of a couple of kids gaining entry through the side door and looking around in there.

Before they tore down the “Mansion” they had also torn down the super creepy Sunland Hospital for housing. Such a shame.
