Flagler College - Ponce de Leon Hall

You are here Home  > Colleges and Universities >  Flagler College - Ponce de Leon Hall

Supposedly the mistress of Henry Flagler haunts the fourth floor of the Ponce de Leon Hall (once the Ponce de Leon Hotel). Some believe Henry Flagler himself still haunts the building, and his face is sometimes seen towards the back of the hall.

    1. I graduated from Flagler College 1987 and I never personally noticed anything paranormal. That said, I found it hard to believe they had the 4th floor shut down. It once was a dorm once, but it was so haunted they were just using it for storage. Space was very valuable in that building. I dont understand wasting an entire floor for storage. Enrollment at Flagler is under 3000 people and tuition is not cheap. BOO

    2. My sister went to college here and lived in this building while she was there. There were kids living on the fourth floor and at one time her dorm room was next to the haunted room. That building is definitely haunted! The mistress’s old room was always empty because they couldn’t keep anyone in it.
You could hear all kinds of noises coming from that room. The lights would turn on and off on there own. And on one of my visits to see my sister, I heard crying coming from that room.
Only bad thing is that unless you go to school there or have a family member going there, you will never get up to that part of the building!

I’ve been reading about all the ghost stories and really wished they were true. I finally just got here to start college and I was hoping to see something while I’m here. Coincidentally, just looking for the roof of Ponce Hall, we came across the Solarium (on the haunted 4th floor!). Me and three other friends were just looking around and I thought I’d veer off the side of the Solarium where it said restrooms. It was a little hall and had three doors. One storage closet-esque door, a female, and male bathroom. Mind you, this whole area had just been locked the day before but the Solarium was suddenly unlocked now. So to continue, I went down to peek inside the girls bathroom and it was super cold and there and I slammed the door shut. I ran back to my friends who were in the center and told them it was eery. Not even five seconds later, a door slams again from inside that tiny hall where there was no one and where all the doors were already shut. Needless to say, we hightailed it out of there. It was so spooky.
