Downs Road

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Downs Road

Closed at both ends and dotted with ruins of former homes, Downs Road is the setting for several local ghost stories. Among them are the Downs Road Monster, which some say was actually an albino horse, along with various ghostly apparitions and strange creatures such as Melon Heads, rumored to leave claw marks on cars parked in the area.

What everyone isn’t understanding is that downs road is still a functioning road yes, but there is a section of downs road that is not finished. Your looking in the wrong places. The section of the road that everyone is talking about is quite sketchy to say the least. Grow some balls and go at night like the rest of us have and THEN you will experience something. If not then you must have done something wrong in your life for the spirits to stay away from you. Let me know how it goes for you.

  1. I spent high school having keg parties there. we wandered Downs road night after night during the late seventies drinking Miller ponies and camping out in those woods. Never saw anything unusual or scary. my buddy still lives on that road too. I was there last week. Never heard about this before

  2. I love this place. So scary though. Went there over 10x and only one time I didn’t have an experience because it was early morning. But multiple times I went, rocks where getting thrown at us, you heard the leaves move like someone is walking through them. It just get scarier as you go deeper. Only went far during day time. I definitely saw something their. One time something chased us out of the woods that was about a child’s height. It’s very active, all you have to do is pass the gate. Also, same road down the other side a haunted cemetery. You’ll miss it if u don’t look, really small. Definitely take a flash light. It’s just tooooo quiet for its own good.

  3. Me and my bestfriend went through the trail during the day expecting peace, but it wasn’t so peaceful. We heard knocking, the trees started to move rapidly, other strange noises we can’t really describe, and a bird falling out a tree.
