Although it closed in 2009, the Carousel Gardens Restaurant was said to be haunted by original owner and founder of Seymour, William H. Wooster and his daughter, Ruth. Witnesses have heard the unexplained sound of breaking glass and seen a ghost cat with glowing eyes.

    I don't know about any hauntings, but I had lunch there with my manager and supervisor :) Good food :)

    I took several pdychic photographs there back in the late 90s. Ed & Lorraine Warren used to hold meetings of their group, NESPR, in one of the upstairs dining rooms.

    I took classes at Carosel Gardens with Ed & Lorraine Warren also. They once had their students go through the place to ck for ghostly phenomana. I took quite a few photos. There was quite a bit of white ectoplasm or energy that showed up in the photos taken on the interior staircase. (Though of course this was not apparent to the naked eye.) I like to believe Ruth knew we were there and wanted to show that this was still her home.

    Ed and Lorraine Warren have publically shared numerous experiences they had here. They even dedicated a segment of the 90's show "Seekers" to the restaurant. They said it wasn't a negative haunting and that it was residual, along with apportation. The perfect place for amateur ghost hunters to capture evidence. They also had the restaurant owner (at that time) on the show to share his experiences. Paul talked about dimes raining in bathroom, seeing a bat materialize and disappear, seeing apparitions (especially on the staircase), hearing noises, movement, etc. It's too bad the location has been renovated. Apparently it was a pretty special place back in the 90's.

    Lots of good times at this restaurant. My wife and I used to go there for dinner quite a bit and used to attend the WPLR Halloween show that was broadcast there a few times during the 90's. We actually had our first major ghost experience there one night in a 3rd floor " round room" where a tag sale was happening. Walked into the room, the air felt VERY heavy. I made a comment to my wife about it, we left the room, re-entered and the feeling was gone.
