Crescent Park Looff Carousel

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Crescent Park Looff Carousel

The century-old Charles Loof Carousel, a.k.a. Crescent Park Carousel, was once part of an amusement complex and ballroom. The ballroom burned down in the 1960s, and it is said that those who perished in the fire still haunt the ride. Employees report that the music turns on by itself, the lights flicker, and the apparition of a woman in hoop skirts has been seen walking nearby.

  1. I LIVE ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE CRESENTPARK CAROUSEL I’M ALSO A SENSITIVE WHERE I CAN SENCE, SEE AND HEAR SPIRITS. THIS PAST SATURDAY I WALKED OVER THE THE CAROUSEL AND WENT INSIDE. WHILE INSIDE I FELT THE SPIRIT OF THE LADY WHO HUNG HERSELF IN THERE I COULD NOT BREATH IT WAS LIKE SOMBODY PLACING THERE HANDS AROUND MY NECK AND STOPING ME FROM BREATHING I ALSO FELT A COLD SPOT WERE I SENSED HER PRESSENCE. I HAD TO LEAVE. THE NEXT DAY I WENT BACK THIS TIME WITH MY BOYFRIEND WE WENT IN THIS TIME I NOT ONLY COULD NOT BREATH WELL BUT COULD NOT MOVE MY BOYFRIEND SEE THE LOOK ON MY FACE AND HE DRAGED ME OUT. ONCE OUTSIDE I COULD BREATH AND FELT FINE. ON BOTH TIMES. I WAS TOLD BY A PHYCIC WHO I CONSOL IN AND SHE TOLD ME TO STAY OUT BECAUSE THE LADY WAS TRYING TO CONNECT TO ME.

  2. I have to say that no one died in the ballroom fire. Maybe any spirits might be from the many hundreds of people over the past centuries that have spent time in the area. Native Americans right up to the farmers and fisherman that settled the area could be lingering not wanting to leave what was once their home. Maybe there were people that may have perished in the ’38 hurricane or souls that were drawn to the park.

  3. So once I was at the carousel just, you know, riding the carousel, and I saw one of the pop corn bags move and I saw no one there. I looked around for the manager and he said “I know, this happens all the time, I apologize.” I had 1 more ticket and so, I used it (it was the last ride of the night) while I was riding the horse I found a weird photo that I’ve never seen before and it was of the old ballroom burning down. I quickly got off the ride and left.

  4. I live in the carousel atps and hear whispering and caught stuff in my Carma this ace is very haunted these building all four of them have many ghost people have died and lime 3 days before anyone knows I love living here they don’t bother me
