Cork Grinders Wine and Coffee Bar

I own a wine, craft beer and coffee bar in the historic district of Baytown, Texas. Our building is very eclectic and was built in the late 1920’s. It was originally a theater (The Texan Theater). My staff and I sense a paranormal presence on a regular basis. Recently we have captured several unexplained images and video. The apparition always has a blue aura of varying degree. Some of my staff members have actually seen it first hand. It seems most active during live music nights, (which might make sense if it were either a performer or an enthusiast). Interestingly, it is a very peaceful feeling spirit (or energy). It doesn’t seem scary or angry to me. We have heard some stories, but have not researched in depth any occurrences that may have taken place in our building in the past to cause a “haunting”. We are starting that process now. It is creepy by nature to some of my employees, but I think it the possibility is pretty cool.

  1. I had never heard of Cork Grinders before, so I had a little time between appointments in Baytown and drove by. The place is now called thr Wazab Susui Bar. I disappointed, so I did not go in and check it out. However, if it was ever haunted, I am sure it still is.

  2. As a child we lived on Missouri Street in a house that was very active, my mom had a beauty shop there and it was very busy in those days,, I decided to drive by one day it definitely looks different now after all these years but some people were leaving outside, I put down my window, and told them I lived there when I was a kid, and it was strange but the woman asked me if it was haunted,, I laughed and said yeah it was.

  3. October 6,2020. Husband and I went to go eat at Wasabi we were the only ones so far there within for awhile then 3 teen boys walked in and another couple came in. So our waitress was so cool so she was going around table. Then all of the sudden I saw my husband shaken I’m like thinking what is he doing so then he turned around asking the waitress she was at the bar making drinks. He said I thought you were shaking my chair she told him you know this is a haunted place. My husband had a experience with the ghost and we didn’t know there was ghost or the most haunted building in Baytown.

  5. Hi, I just read your establishments story about being haunted and the comments people have written.
Would you be open to allowing myself and my partner to come in one evening, preferably when you’re closed, to do an investigation?
If so, we can meet you beforehand to discuss more details.
    Thanks!
    Jen
