Ax-Man's House - Ax-Man's Bridge

You are here Home  > Bridges >  Ax-Man's House - Ax-Man's Bridge

Legends told by locals say that in the 1970s, a man killed his wife, kids, and two policeman with an ax before hanging their bodies from meat hooks in his shed. When the police found out, he ran from them. The police gave pursuit and shot him in the woods near the small bridge. Now, the house is gone, but folks say the woods and bridge are haunted. Witnesses describe children laughing or screaming, apparitions of a crying woman, strange lights in the woods, and the sound of someone running.

    • ummm this website does not own the bridge, this website is for information purposes only. You can just go there by yourself or with a friend.

  2. My question is what would drive someone so insane that they murder their wife, kids, and two police officers, and hang them from meat hooks in a building? Crazy….

  3. I drove there and it was such a random road that caught me off guard. It was on a path coming from a wicked turn leading straight to a persons house. It wasn’t what I thought but I believe that area has hauntings I’m sure since it’s a creepy dark area

  4. From that town, my parents are from there, all my grandparents lived there. It’s bunk. Now don’t get me wrong, there were people murdered in Crete, but not like that, during that time. Hell, there’s a road where they found teenage girls dumped in the late 50’s through the 60’s.

  5. OK I’ve been here many times with equipment and my ability to feel spirits I got nothing but a mosquito bite.. don’t waste your time.. the road is covered with tree’s down …

  6. now days it hard to see from the newer road in the summers and its all built up with house it ha ha its all local foiklore we use to go out there and park with our girl friends in the 60s and 70s
