Stunning views aren’t all that guests staying in this motor inn might encounter. Staff and maintenance workers claim that Room #66 and Room #67 are hot spots for paranormal activity, while an unseen presence has been known to push past people in the hallways.

We stayed at the Apgar Village in this past June. The room had stunning views being only a few feet off the water and looking at the mountains across lake McDonald. We hiked, Kayaked, and enjoyed the small village and this will always be a place we return to in Glacier.

I am a high school educator and have never experienced any paranormal activity, UFO’s, monsters, or ghosts in my lifetime. But I was in a gift shop in the village and a Haunted Glacier Book caught my eye. Asd i looked at the table of contents it had the Village Inn of APgar listed so I checked out the chapter. Sure enough room 67 was ours. I did not way a word to my wife or daughter as they would have been upset during our entire stay.

That night, they had commented about the strange smell emitted from our bathroom. No matter how much air freshener was used, there seemed to be somethin gourto ft he ordinary causing the slight smell. I stayed silent ruling it out to coincidence.

Our second night my wife woke me up. Again I had not said anything about the book that declared our room “haunted” When she woke me up there was a loud clanking coming from the nearby kitchenette. I too heard it and went into the kitchen. It continued for a few moments but soon quit. I looked around but could not see anything that would have caused the noise outside or inside.

This was not the sound of the air conditioner or a furnace being turned on or off. So of course I layed in bed wide awake for the next two hours. Our final night stay was without incident. When we left the village and were on our way to Yellowstone, I told the family the strange tale and we al lhad a good nervous laugh.

We survived the week but I may ask for a different room the next time we stay. But now I have a fun story to share at the campfire and with my friends. I attached a pic of the Village Inn and our room is the one on the lower-middle with the red chair.

  2. I grew up here and clean them rooms from 2005 2012 and the smell from the bathroom was of something dead and we never could get rid of the smell for good it always came back
