1859 Historic National Hotel

Guests here may meet a ghost named Flo. Her apparition has been seen in most rooms throughout the hotel, and she has been known to cause lights to flicker, doors to slam, and suitcases to overturn. She has also been heard sobbing during the night. Flo, aka Flora, was a late-1800s woman set to elope with her sweetheart, Henry. However, Henry was tragically shot by a drunken man that very day, and broken-hearted Flora died soon after. Diaries in each room are present so guests can write about any mischief Flo caused for them.

    1. We stayed there and the lights in our room would turn on. We left them off when we went out and came back to them being on. We also heard noises coming from the cd player in the tub room. It was static during the time of playing a cd.

    2. My boyfriend and I stayed here sometime in summer 2019. As we checked in at the front desk my boyfriend looks down and notices the sundials of his watch spinning uncontrollably. That was a little strange. I asked workers for their stories and almost everyone had their own personal experiences. That night we went to our room and it was a nice cute room, felt very cozy! We explored the other rooms that weren’t being slept in as they were open and we were curious. There was a room on the wing opposite us that just gave me the creeps, I didn’t saw anything and my boyfriend who is not into anything superstitious or paranormal shivered and said he didn’t like that room. We ran out of the room all spooked. Lol. Then we went to our room to get ready for the night. As we were leaving I closed the door and I could see across the hall. I felt like someone was staring at me and so I pulled out my phone and took a picture. That picture later had a blurry small round figure in it. I didn’t notice til days later. Needless to say, I know this place is haunted!!

    3. Wow ! After my husband and I visited here in October of 2019… I was freaked at !!! Static from the cd radio player in bath. Dark images gliding in dining room and wth? , Is up with these children holding me down. It was not a dream ! 3 years later, I’m looking at my photos from trip… And I see this image !!!!!

    4. We stayed here in November 2021; we stayed in Room 10. We didn’t experience anything or got to see Flo. We were able to catch a lot of orbs around the outside of the hotel and one orb in the main hallway to the rooms.

    5. Hi , i can confirm that Flo is for real.
I am an ex- employee there. Unfortunately the hotel is closed now as of Sunday, February 18 the restaurant in the bar closed until further notice anyway, yes flow is for real. I had many many experiences I’ve seen her, heard her, dealt with her moving plates out in front of guests as they’re eating, turning on lights, turning off lights, changed a keg of beer for me, and unpacking peoples luggage, messing up our napkins, messing up our silverware downstairs in the dining room. Worked there for five years and i loved it . Ill miss ms. Flo a lot.
