You are here Home  > Hotels and Inns >  1790 Inn and Tavern

Built in 1790, this historic inn is said to be haunted by Anna, a 17-year-old who jumped from a window after becoming pregnant by a sailor who went to sea instead of staying with her. Reports say some guests at the inn have found that their things have disappeared or have been moved to unusual places.

  1. I specifically searched out haunted hotels, and paid extra to book the room that “Anna” was in. The hotel is an old building, and really cool architecture, but other than the room being decent size, bright and airy, and dirty…..there were little items left on the fireplace mantel, supposedly to lure Anna.

We didn’t experience anything that night. I was disappointed….thoroughly 🙁

  2. I had the opportunity to stay in room 204 (which my wife and I will again this year in December). The following items happened:

    1) noises in the room at all hours of the night (waked me up)
    2) the doll in the room was on the bed and I took a video from the door to the fireplace and the doll moved its head to follow the camera
    3) the doll was placed on the chair on the bed and, during the night when I was awakened by noise, the doll was next to me in the bed
    4) the old wardrobe doors remained closed (verified that this usually does not happened with the owner the next day.

My wife was not with me at the time so I could not verify that Anna will push a women out of the bed but I will see if Anna will in December.
