Windsor Hotel

This 1892 hotel once boasted 100 rooms and a 3-story atrium, but it closed in the 1970s. It has since reopened and now has 53 guest rooms. It was once the site of a 1928 speech given by Franklin D. Roosevelt, prior to his becoming governor of New York. The ghost who reportedly haunts here is that of a small girl, said to be the daughter of a former housekeeper. Both mother and daughter were allegedly pushed down an elevator shaft in the early 1900s. The girl’s presence has been felt here, often on the third floor. Witnesses also have reported hearing a woman’s voice and a baby’s cries.

    1. My son and I stayed at the hotel on Saturday night, July 9, 2016 I had no idea about the hotel’s haunted past. After we checked in I told my son several times that, “I have a bad feeling about this place,” and “I feel creepy.” Then I had nightmares of death and zombies. Now it all makes sense.

    2. We stayed here twice. The first time my 2 year old daughters favorite doll went missing. When we went back the second time our 2 kids were playing in the large closet and when they came out they said they were playing with a little girl. We went downstairs later that day to ask if anyone had turned in the doll from our previous stay and that was when we were told about the little girl that haunts the hotel. Very strange feeling after that. My kids were 3 1/2 and 2.
