Van Horn Park

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Van Horn Park

Legend has it that two boys drowned in the pond here in the 1920s, and their ghosts still linger in the area. In summertime, park visitors have heard them laughing and splashing and seen the water move, although no one is visible.

  1. I go to this park everyday. I go into a spot that no one knows about and record for YouTube. This Saturday I’ll be going again to record any paranormal activities

  2. I’d be interested as to what you can find. My cousin was murdered at Van Horn Park, 50 years ago this month (September). I’m presently doing research on the crime, … AND the killer, Frank Hastings. He confessed to the crime, … sure he is out by now, … but where?

  3. @ the first commenter on here listed as, “unknown”. I’d definitely be interested in seeing what you have recorded for YouTube. Link me up if you’ve gotten any action!

  4. i was kidnapped and raped in this park 4 years ago, and right before i was grabbed i had a premonition of what was going to happen. i don’t know if that counts as creepy or not? but its a bad park.

  5. I do paranormal hunting and i live right in front off this pond and ive picked up on this case trust its haunted my equipment picked up alot off paranormal activity

  6. I’m retired from the military now, did 20yrs. I have 2 kids and live in Georgia. Almost 50. I just happened to come across the story you posted. I have NEVER heard of it, but I will say that that it’s true from personal experience. I used to live right down Chapin Terrace and remember riding my bike up there quite often to the park. At 12 yrs old, I never heard of the park being haunted but I will definitely tell you I heard those voices laughing and splashing too. In fact, one time I even stopped my bike they got so loud…I could hear them, but, I couldn’t see them. I remember having that strange look on my face. Never thought the place was haunted, I figured it was just some other kids. It was a creepy place to go especially at night, because they closed it permantely to traffic. Just wanted to tell you my story about the park.

  7. this park… ive never been here BUT i wanna come here with my friends were doing last to challenge. from the comments i read it seems pretty haunted. but i still wanna come. im really scard and exited i honestly dont know why.

I don’t live too far from here I’ve went here twice with my teenage daughters at night paranormal hunting and the two times I went with my daughter I can hear screaming and yelling I went once by myself and did not hear anything but something alert in the shadows I do have videos and would love to show them to have a perspective on other people’s thoughts

    • Luis I have paranormal equipment as well. I would really like to see anything you caught! I’m going to go soon myself. My cellphone is (413) 302-7248. I’m Jason. I think it happened across Armory St. On the other side of the park.

  9. I lived there for most of my life. That far side of the park was always creepy and dangerous. Since the renovation of that side it’s actually really pretty and safe. As far as screaming in the night there are a ton of foxes in the park. At night their mating call sounds like a woman screaming.
