General Anthony Wayne was buried, unearthed, then boiled so he could be transferred to his family grave. It is said that he lost some bones along the way and was reburied as an incomplete body. Some people still see him wandering along this road (used to transfer him); he is rotting, missing parts, and looking for his lost bones.

  1. I was born and raised in Franklin and live there most of my life. I have made many of trips up and down 322 between Cranberry and Clarion. I have not seen General Anthony Wayne in any stretch of the road.

  2. Along with what the above comment says, I too have never heard of this tale nor have I ever seen General Anthony Wayne on any stretch of that road.
