Sweetwater County Library

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Sweetwater County Library

This library opened in 1980, and some say it is rich with supernatural activity because it was built on the site of an 1860s cemetery. Reports say electrical appliances turn on and off, books fly off the shelves, orbs wander the art gallery and typewriters type by themselves. An apparition also has been seen in the multipurpose room.

  1. Me and my sister went to the library with my daughter. We were sitting at a table reading the ghost log book and a cold breeze by us, It was March and no air conditioners on or doors opened. I also felt a tap on my hand.

  2. I was working with three exchange students from Japan one evening. Suddenly, one of the girls jerked her head up and spun around to look behind her. She said someone had put his hand on her shoulder, but no one was there. We had to leave directly afterward, as she refused to stay another minute, and would never go back. We had to find a new place to study.

  3. I worked there from time to time as a librarian sub. I heard my name spoken in my ear a few times while shelving books in the children’s section.
