St. Stephens College has many ghosts, according to its campus lore. One haunted site is the Pillsbury/Roblee Dorm Hall, where three ghostly women called the Blue Ladies sing to students and tuck them in to bed at night. And a phantom baby cries at night at Searcy Hall, a lingering spirit of a newborn left in a locker by a student. At Senior Hall, a spirit named Sarah walks. She hanged herself here after her Civil War soldier lover was killed for deserting. Tower Hall is said to have a haunted fifth floor where several ghosts are rumored to reside.

  1. The school is hauned. I lived there for a year.
The “Blue Ladies” are now referred to as the tuck in ghosts, had one experience with a lady. Very nice.
Had some other experiences that are very vague to me now.

  2. I have so much info! I worked overnight Security there for a couple of years i had NO idea it was haunted, when I started. Everything I experienced, was first hand and from a totally unbiased perspective. If you’d like the details, send me an email!!

    • How about if you just post what you experienced?… That way it would be public and everyone could see it, plus it would mean you’d have to reply individually less often to people 🙂

  3. I’ve met Sarah, as well as the children in Pillsbury and Roblee Halls. There is a White Lady in the basement of Pillsbury as well, and she has her own room there. Do not, I repeat, do not go near that room. The basement of Prunty is also haunted, by what exactly, I’m not sure. Hickman Hall has a ghost in the basement of the costume shop, the Warehouse Theatre has two ghosts, one on the main floor, and another in the booth. The Macklanburg is said to be haunted by Maude Adams, and I believe it. The academic halls are also haunted by several spirits, as is the third floor design lab. The library is very haunted as well.

  4. I lived in Pillsbury in 1990 and had an experience in my room on the third floor. I was taking a nap after studying. When I awoke there was a drop of fresh, wet blood on the pillow of the other twin bed beside me in my room. My roommate never slept there and I called her to be sure that she didn’t stop in that day, which she hadn’t. I am certain that it wasn’t there when I fell asleep. I immediately ran the pillow case under cold water to get the stain out. I don’t think many people believed me, but my suitemates did. I was so terrified that I never slept in the room again and often felt as though a presence was in there. I heard several stories immediately afterward from some other students regarding students in the past, but wasn’t sure what to believe. I had never heard of the Blue Ladies.

  5. I went to Stephens in 2010 I was Roblee hall me and a friend went to the third floor to get an extra mattress at this the 3 floor was shutdown wasn’t enough freshmen to fill the rest of the floors so why not get a mattress from there right ? Before I could even touch the handle we heard 3 light knocks from the opposite side of the door we flew back down to the first floor and called security when the two security guards went back up there to check with us each door was locked he opened the door to prove to us no one was in the room he also opened the closet and no one was there we got the mattress and never went up there again

  6. Me and a few of my friends visited a basement in Pillsbury/ tower building I believe this was also in 2010 we all lived in Roblee when we went down there we seen a high chair with hand and feet straps only a child could fit in there we also seen a 2 sided mirror where u can tell someone used to be watching whatever was going on on the other side it was very creepy I don’t remember seeing or hearing anything but that was enough for me I was told by upper class girls Stephenson used to be a psychiatric hospital for kids
