St. James Presbyterian Church is said to be haunted, as evidenced by footsteps heard walking up the stairs and doors that shut by themselves and are sometimes impossible to open again. The same doors will be found open later.

Nonsense!
I am the person who experienced these event back in the late 1960s. I had keys so I could clean, and my friend and I would often just hang out there, chilling. The most chilling part was learning my friend had a very similar experience not being able to open, shove, kick, etc. the door open, but he had the experience with a different door.
The sound of walking upstairs was louder than normal, I could hear it go up the stairs and across the sanctuary, yet no one was there.
Strange to find my experiences noted here.
