This 1870’s inn was formerly a private residence where polygamists hid from the law, hence the name of the establishment. There are meant to be several ghost stories associated with the building.

Uhh. I had an encounter with something here a few years ago when visiting. I was like 11 years old. I remember walking around the area with my Star Wars action figures, I believe I was trying to find a place to have a little war. It was around I would say 9:00 or 10:00 PM. When I was walking I all the sudden heard cracking noises. I thought it was coming from the A/C or something. But it was coming from the corner of the building. I remember it having a awful smell. I had difficulty breathing, and I have asthma. I ran back in my room while my parents where asleep. It seemed like the cracking noise was following me. It got louder and louder. Then it stopped. I got over it eventually and fell asleep. I “woke” up, it seemed I was in sleep paralysis. I couldn’t move, talk. There was a shadowy figure in the corner of the room a little bit behind the door. I was scared shitless. Then I just woke up in the morning. Like nothing even happened. I was very young. Every since that night I can still hear and smell that fear once in a while. I honestly think I brought something back with me. But I kind of ignore it. I don’t really tell my parents or friends. I apologize but I don’t have any photos or videos, I did not have a phone at the time. I just hope no one had encountered the same thing or something else. I haven’t been back since.
This is a ghost story told to me, not my personal experience. While traveling Nevada in search of ghost towns in about 1974 I changed plans to camp out due to bad weather prediction. I crossed into Utah and checked in to an old small motel on the south end of town. It was dusk and i looked out the back window of the motel room. There was a cast stone block 2 story house at least 100 years old. It looked uninhabited and spooky. I went back to the motel office run by an old German woman. I asked her about the house. She replied” Are you Mormon” and I said no. “Ok I guess i can tell you” she said. “An elderly couple used to live there and I would care for them. The house is haunted. I saw strange things in there like doors of the stove banging open and closed. I saw the ghosts of two women in there. The towns people knew about the house. When hunters would bring the couple meat they would hang it outside in the porch, knock on the door and run. Later when the couple were gone I managed the house for the relatives for a while. In hunting season when the motel was full i would rent the house out to hunters. Not one hunter ever spent the full night there. The grandson of Mormon founder Brigham Young was an outlaw. His gang went into Nevada, robbed a stage coach and brought two women back here and killed them in that house”. And that’s the story.
The town in Utah was Beaver.
