At Rutledge Victorian Guesthouse, the ghost of a young girl who perished in a fire years ago is said to reside. She makes herself known by turning lights on and off and peering in from a window over the stairs. The smell smoke can be evident when the ghost is around.

My sister once lived in a house behind this one. Her bedroom was the closest one in her house to the Rutledge house, and she would often wake up with her pillow on the other side of her bedroom and could sometimes hear strange singing and piano playing coming from the Rutledge House. She would also experience cold spots in her room, but none of her roommates experienced this in their rooms. After gaining suspicion and doing some research, she found that several workers have died in trying to repair the home over the years. She also found that she and the young girl shared the same name: Sarah.

My husband, my 10 year old daughter and myself stayed at the Rutledge House in 2012. We always stay in room # 9. We were woken up before dawn by an apparition flapping around the front window. It was not a bat.
