Remington Arms Factory

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Remington Arms Factory

Seen on the TV show Ghost Adventures, this former weapons factory was closed in the 1980s because of its myriad accidents, many of which were fatal. Witnesses say the abandoned building is a hotspot for haunts who appear as shadowy figures. Also experienced here have been the sounds of weapon-factory work, yelling, and talking voices.

    1. My family grew up here, Remington Arms is one of many old industrial giants that have long since gone. As a matter of fact, most of these building (like the ones on Boston Ave.) have been demolished. You can still see this tower, especially from the Metro North railroad, but even those adjacent building are being torn down, and their old steel and rail beds sold for scrap. I wonder what happens to all the spirits, when they have been displaced like that?

    2. I’ve been in that building multiple times. I don’t fully believe the place is haunted, but one time while I was on the elevator shaft taking photographs I began to hear quiet footsteps coming in my direction. I paid no mind to them at the time because I was focused, but they began to progressively become loud stomps. I finally noticed them and as soon as I took my finger off the shutter of my camera the footsteps stopped as if they were synchronized with me. But out of the eight times I’ve gone that was the only thing that has happened. All other sounds were easily traced to open doors or broken walls and wind.

    3. Just 2 days ago i was there for a birthday party and beinga kid when my dad parked i had a fealing that that place is demented so whe went in we got tothe party and my dad said thatjust by staring at a wall he saw it growing about 20″ and the host ofthe party said that just by putting cole onatable it sudenly sunk then mybrother reserched itandwhe found out that 11 people died there and1 was beriedalive

I have lived in Bridgeport my entire life. And I’ve heard many stories an seen the ghost adventures show episode at Remington arms.
We drive by the tower pretty much every day. The very first time I’ve seen something strange was at night. We had stopped at the corner and I had been looking up at the top of the tower an suddenly the lights in the tower turned on. I freaked out and told my family to look. They looked and saw. We sat there for a few mins and you could see something shadowy moving. Then the light went off and on multiple times. After that started to happen my dad decided to drive away.
But even now sometimes when we drive by it at night we see the lights in to tower go on and off.
I’m sure by now that building doesn’t have electricity. So yes I believe it is haunted and they shouldn’t have knocked down parts of it. I wouldn’t wanna piss off any spirits.
Yes I believe in ghosts/spirits/entities, I have seen, heard and felt many of them throughout my life. Some I wish I hadn’t seen.
