Pritchard House

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Pritchard House

Some members of the Pritchard family never left their 1891 home, some say. One of the haunts here is said to be Lola Pauline Smith Pritchard, or Miss Lovie, who, when she was alive, didn’t care for people to visit her home. Some of the strange things reported to happen here have been disembodied voices, lights that turn on by themselves, and a grandfather clock that pings even though it is not running.

The Pritchard House is run by the North Brevard Heritage Foundation as an historic house museum. If you drive by at night you might see a lighted window on the second floor. That is because there is a lamp that automatically comes on after dark in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Events are held at the home through out the year, during both day and evening hours. If you see “a woman” looking out of one of the windows it is a volunteer museum docent.

  3. My grandmother and I got on the conversations of haunted places, and on this website I brought up this house because it is near Coca Beach where she lives. My grandmother told me that in the 1970’s the building was owned by the state and was being used as a orphanage at the time. It was my grandmothers, grandmother who had worked there and ran the house along with another lady.. It was in the late 70’s when my grandmothers, mother went to visit her mother (my grandmothers, grandma) and while in the bathroom, my grandmothers mother and passed randomly in the upstairs bathroom.. She was in perfect health until that moment.

The Pritchard House in Titusville Florida was never owned by the state, nor was it ever an orphanage. From the time it was built in 1891 until it was sold to Brevard County in 2005 it was always occupied by members of the Pritchard Family. It is run by the North Brevard Heritage Foundation who offer tours of the home, and hold special events there throughout the year.

  4. I don’t know whether or not this home is haunted, but it certainly is beautiful and I cannot stop admiring the pictures. I can’t imagine how beautiful it must be inside. Stunning homes such as these are rare, especially in Florida.

  5. I investigated this house a few years ago and received at least a dozen evps…. Even heard a little girl crying out for her mommy. I heard that with my own ears. It was up on the second floor. Check out my Facebook page to listen to the evps…. Really cool. Use headphones to listen clearer. It’s the GSI Facebook page. Didn’t see anything on pics or visually that I deemed paramormal. One creepy experience was a male asking me if I wanted to take a bath. I was sitting in the bath tub upstairs when I received it. It may have just been a residual evp.
