Civil War reenactors claim to occasionally capture strange orbs in photographs, almost like they are soldiers’ spirits interacting with the reenactments.

Most likely they are not getting the responses they want because the spirits are replayying that day they died over and over everyday.
I was with a tour group of teachers, sponsored by the University of Florida, in June 2009. We were being given a tour by a park ranger in Confederate costume. After being shown the area where it was believed that the first full Union troop of black soldiers were butchered by Confederate forces, due to the fact that the black soldiers had never been trained to load and shoot live weapons. The guide demonstrated how a civil war era rifle was loaded and shot. After the we all heard a rustling in the brush behind us and the guide stated that he thought it was probably a wild pig that was startled by the shot. We then all felt a very strong and icy cold wind whip through the group, no other breeze was that strong or cold. The guide then stated that at night dark figures can be seen through out the woods. He speculated that the breeze was likely the spirits expressing their dislike of the gun demonstration.
