Oliver House

Reports abound about ghostly presences in various rooms. In the “Grandma Room” a rocking chair will star moving all on its own, and grandma herself sometimes appears late at night. Doors and windows open and close on their own in the “Purple Sage Room”, and there are definite cold spots in the “Plum Room.” Footsteps are heard throughout the residence at night.

    1. My mom and I and a friend of hers spent the night here and let me tell you this place is haunted! We had just got to the hotel and went up and put our stuff in our rooms we had the door shut and I had just washed my hands the sink happen to be right next to the door and we all heard a knocking on our bedroom door again the owner had left to get stuff and we where the only ones in house. The door was a good 2 or so inches off the floor and we didn’t see any shadows we open the door and nothing no one was there and we all freaked out and ran down stairs to make sure the owner was gone.

    2. This place – oh man, everything they say is true. I was brought up in a haunted house, have seen ghosts all my life, I relish visiting haunted sites, but I won’t be going back here, it was just too scary for me! I visited the Oliver House several years ago – the caretaker at the time was the father of friends of mine. We were sitting up watching a video in the “common room” when I distinctly heard a door open, felt cold air and then footsteps…”Oh, I guess your girlfriend’s home” my boyfriend said. “No, no she’s not”, the caretaker replied offhandedly. “Well, but someone just…just came in! Didn’t you hear that?!?” “Nope, didn’t hear a thing…”.
We guessed later that this was how he managed to stay there – he was in total denial. We stayed in the most haunted room, where there had been more than one murder. Both of us were excited but also scared shitless. I used incense, crystals, surrounded us with white light, and ORDERED my bladder to shut down for the night. No way was I getting out of that bed, walking down that hall and going into that really dark and scary bathroom in the night. Straight out of The Shining. Slept okay but clung like a burr to boyfriend all night. That place is something else. Talk about vibes!!! Town of Bisbee is wonderful, Oliver House a treat if you like your hauntings laid on thick. So much blood spillled there…
