Old Holiday Inn Oceanside

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Old Holiday Inn Oceanside

Once a popular tourist hotel, the old “Holiday Inn Oceanside” has been abandoned since it sustained severe damage in 2004 from both Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne. Local residents decry it as an eyesore. Several plans have been hatched to renovate and reopen the building, but to date none have succeeded. Some locals claim to have seen and heard strange things coming from the abandoned structure – lights are seen, voices are heard, and no one is sure whether these are local kids, homeless people, or… maybe something supernatural?

At least one person has claimed to have witnessed paranormal activity there, when a lamp was thrown forcefully to the ground by unseen hands.

  1. Myth Busted. Hotel is regularly patrolled and several people have been arrested for trespassing. Regarding the claim that a lamp was thrown to the ground…….The hotel was gutted completely after the hurricane of 2004.

    • Yeah your right almost got a felony last night for going there. they had security guard that i wasn’t even aware of and i guess he called martin county’s sheriff and they had like 9 damn cops come to the hotel and they ended up giving me and my 4 friends a trespassing warning.

  2. I’ve been here multiple times, (before they boarded it up & had guards) and there is something going on in there. I’ve seen apparitions, I’ve heard a lot of strange noises & whispers. I took a digital recorder in there, and got some scary but cool voices & growls. I’m kind of glad they boarded it up because my stupid ex-bf decided to bring a Ouiji board in there. Other things have happened after he brought it in that I don’t want to talk about. There’s no doubt that place is haunted. By the way, if anyone does end up sneaking in somehow, avoid the basement.

  3. I’ve been there multiple times. I’ve never seen or heard anything, however, you do get an immediate feeling of discomfort walking in. The basement is defiantly the creepiest place in the building. the back of the kitchen also made me very uneasy. just a creepy place all around

    • Did you see any security in February? I was there a few days ago and didnt see anyone. I did see a vacated chair out front that looked kind of new. Maybe security was on break? LOL

  4. I don’t know if someone is still actively reading these comments but I had an experience there with some friends of mine when we snuck in years back. Heard some voices.

    • It was coming from the portal. Jk. I wish that place was still abandoned. Never got down to the basement but heard big ass boots stomping down the side stairwell so we decided to run out.

  5. Yes there is a kitchen and banquet rooms..several electricial vaults…i was asst. Chief engineer there till 2005 when we finally left
