Meriwether Lewis Dredge

You are here Home  > Miscellaneous >  Meriwether Lewis Dredge

Dredge Captain Meriwether Lewis, built in 1931, is one of the few surviving examples of its type built to control flooding along U.S. rivers. It contains a museum that is believed to be haunted. Employees say the ghosts have long been a part of the museum’s staff. Perhaps most notably, a piano is known to play all by itself (and no, it is not a player piano).

  1. One day several years ago I was visiting Baldwin Cemetery outside Mound City, and as I as climbing the hill I had the sense of a really angry spirit running towards me. It stopped right in front of me.
I told it I was just checking out my grandfathers grave and then would leave.
The whole time I was there I felt like this entity was right by my shoulder.
I felt it watching me all the way back to my car. I have not been able to make myself go back even though there is another grave I need to find.
