Several places at Kean University, originally established in 1855 as the Newark Normal School, are said to be visited by spirits. East Campus and Rogers Hall are haunted by former students, the Eames building has a negative spirit, and the Wilkins Theater sports the ghost of a man named George who died accidentally on the premises.

A former student at Kean class of 2005. Noticed voices at the east campus when I was leaving class late one night and cries of some sort. As I was headed downstairs I felt like someone was following me. Ran to my car parked towards Morris ave. Pretty weird and strange.
Back in 2017 when I dormed at Whiteman Hall, I definitely had some creepy incidences. I had the room to myself (no roommate) and would come home to my wardrobe doors open even though I closed them, lights would flicker or be on when I didn’t turn them on, an especially creepy experience was when I heard breathing next to me, I paused and held my breath in case it was me but I still heard it. Lastly, I sometimes didn’t feel alone and one night got this awful feeling late at night that didn’t feel like it belonged to me and just made me feel like hurting myself which was very out of character since I’d not been depressed or anything.
July ’22 on a tour of the mansion and saw a full bodied apparition staring out a 2d floor window. A Victorian dressed woman staring blankly ahead, without blinking. Looked back 2 more times and she was still there. Took a vid of the building exterior and nothing! S/w the tour manager who advised there was no one in the building at that time.
I used to work in the Technology building and a lot of times I would be in the building alone. One evening I was in the restroom down the hall, and I heard kids running passed the bathroom, towards the room where I worked.
I walked out quickly and saw nothing.
